The Pop Shoppe and perceptions

The more things stay the same, the more my perception changes.

When I was a kid, the Pop Shoppe was this weird place in town where they made the soft drinks right in the store and bottled it. It cost less than regular soft drinks and was in those inconvenient glass bottles. My dad was disappointed that I preferred bigger brands like Coke and Canada Dry.

Now I’m bigger and I hate corn syrup and plastic. I can’t wait to have locally made soft drinks in those beautiful glass bottles.

I also like the brand architecture. Pop Shoppe Cola, Pop Shoppe Grape, etc. Simple.

The website is a bit weird (I know I’m not the target) – but I hope the kids these days appreciate the how interesting the product, the packaging and the names really are in this cheap, disposable world.
